Certified translator

Sabine Biasi is a certified translator for various language combinations and has over thirty years of experience in translation, including more than twenty-five years in legal translation from French to English. Fifteen years ago, after working as an in-house legal translator in the linguistic services departments of two major law firms in Montreal for more than ten years, she started her own legal translation business. Her clients include many of Canada’s largest law firms, the legal services departments of several large corporations and various government agencies. Since 2020, she has also been a subject matter expert and course lecturer in the Graduate Diploma in Legal Translation program at McGill University.

Sabine holds an honours degree in French-to-English translation from Concordia University (co-op option) and a master’s degree in international business law from the University of Liverpool School of Law, both obtained with great distinction. She is a member of both OTTIAQ and CALT, the Canadian Association of Legal Translators. Since September 2019, she has served on the board of directors of CALT, where she is in charge of training, with a particular interest in the next generation of professional legal translators.
