Some translations, without being wrong, come up short. They convey the same meaning as the source text, but something is not right. And if that translation happens to be yours, you might not even notice.

This workshop is to help you spot trouble and take corrective action. We’ll take a writerly look at substandard English translations and identify the problems together. You’ll take home a checklist of items to be on the watch for in your own work.

Note: Although all the examples will be translations from French, no knowledge of French is required to take this workshop
