Taking a look at the word choices of translators who work in the opposite direction to you can be very revealing. You’ll come across words you struggle with every time you have to translate them. But since they’re in translated texts, you can sneak a peek at the original wording.

In this workshop we’ll be looking at sentences translated into French and seeing if we can guess what the original text said in English. It’s a great way to come up with idiomatic new ways to translate long-time problem words.
