AI tools are changing quickly, and language professionals are often left wondering which tools are worth their time and how to use them responsibly. In this practical session, we will compare several leading AI chatbots from the perspective of translators, interpreters, and other language professionals. We will look at what each tool does well, where human judgment remains essential, and how to evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, usefulness, confidentiality, and professional risk.

Nora Díaz is an English-Spanish translator and conference interpreter who enjoys using technology to improve productivity and support better language work. She is co‑chair of the American Translators Association Professional Development Committee, co‑host of the AI in Translation Summit and AI in Interpreting Summit, and co-author of The Translator’s Tool Box. Nora was listed as one of the Top 30 Women in the Language Industry by MultiLingual magazine in 2023, received the American Translators Association’s Innovation Award in 2024, and was named a Language Industry Influencer by MultiLingual magazine in 2025.
